Electronic Devices Policies

District of Puerto Rico

Attorneys authorized to appear Pro Hac Vice in a case before the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico pursuant to Local Civil Rule 83A(f), who wish to access the Federico Degetau Federal Office Building and Clemente Ruiz Nazario United States Courthouse in Hato Rey with personal electronic devices, must present the following at the entrance to the premises:

  1. a paper or hard copy of the Order granting their Pro Hac Vice Request;  and,
  2. a current government-issued photo identification.

Personal electronic devices include, but are not limited to, devices such as cellular telephones, "smart phones," laptop computers, and tablet computers.

The possession and use of personal electronic devices in the Clemente Ruiz Nazario United States Courthouse or any Court-designated space within the Federal Office Building will continue to be governed by the Guide for Judiciary Policy, Vol. 10, Ch. 5, Local Rule 83F(c), and any applicable Court Standing Order(s).
